I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been sure something is going to happen. And in those situations, because I was so sure, so confident, so passionate, I did everything I could think of to seal the deal (legally and ethically, of course).
One was going to the University of Virginia. Another was marrying my husband. And now, I am so sure that I am doing the exact work I’m meant for in this moment. I am sure that all the people, places, experiences, education, and life lessons have brought me. right. here: to inspire and empower a transformation in how we work, especially for working parents.
And when I’ve been sure this handful of times, it’s been a superpower. When I’ve gone from wondering “What if it works out…” to “When it works out….”
I’ve asked for help, I’ve made bold requests, I’ve made investments in myself. I’ve said no to things getting in the way, and yes to the potential opportunities.
And when there’ve been roadblocks, unanswered emails, delays, long-distances, or a college counselor telling me to my face I won’t get in, the confidence has pushed me through the small seeds of doubt that creep in.
What would you do if you knew it was a sure thing? That it would work out as least as well as you picture it?
What dreams are filling your mind right now? What’s making your heart swell? What vision is giving you butterflies you’ve maybe not felt in a while? Where’s the smile coming from?
What would you be willing to do if you knew, YOU KNEW, it was going to happen? Whose help would you seek? What degree would you get? What LLC/non profit would you form? What rooms would you walk into that you maybe used to think weren’t for you but now you know are for you because you have something that needs to be shared.
I sure would love to see you in your WHEN.
